VoiceNPAC
VoiceNPAC has been created to support young people in their education within the Performing Arts. All prize monies must be used to fund courses attended at:- Musical theatre schools, colleges or Universities;
- Conservatoires;
- Private institutions (e.g. Singing, Dancing, Drama lessons etc.).
Supporting VoiceNPAC
You too can participate in the work of VOICE National Performing Arts Competition. Although we are generously funded by London College of Music, we still need to raise additional monies to ensure the competition continues to help young people each year. Heats (Regional LCM exam centres)
All applicants will be required to perform one song of their choice:- Of not more than three minutes duration;
- With a backing track on CD or with their own pianist;
- From the world of musical theatre;
- From any era;
- Appropriately staged, but without costume.
Semi-final (The Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton, London)
Semi-finalists will perform two songs:- Selected from a prescribed list;
- In costume;
- With full dramatic content;
- Before three judges.
Final (The Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton, London)
Finalists will perform two songs (one taken from the semi-final):- Selected from a prescribed list;
- In costume;
- With full dramatic content;
- Before three judges;
- In front of a live audience.
Schedule 2009
Please note, the following information is given in more detail in the Terms and Conditions (see below).The VoiceNPAC competition is now open to applicants aged between 18 and 30 years. Applicants and competitors from previous competitions may apply subject to the terms and conditions.
- The VoiceNPAC application form will be available to download via the NPAC page of the VoiceNPAC website from the 24th November 2008;
- Fully completed applications must be received by the applicant's chosen LCM centre representative, no later than the last post on the 1st February 2009;
- Heats will take place at various LCM examination centres throughout the UK and Eire. Please visit the LCM website for details of your nearest centre and LCM centre representative;
- Heats will take place between the 21st March and the 25th April 2009 inclusive;
- Competitors selected to attend the Semi-final will be contacted by telephone on the 1st June 2009;
- Competitors must confirm their acceptance of a place in the Semi-final no later than the 3rd June 2009;
- Semi-finalists must confirm their choice of songs, from the prescribed list, no later than the 8th June 2009;
- The Semi-final and Final will take place at The Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton, London on Friday 31st July and Saturday 1st August 2009 respectively.
